Samalona Island is a small island with a group of round-shapedcoral island with an area of 2.34 hektar.di Makassar Strait,precisely Samalona Island on the southwest coast of westernSouth Sulawesi.
Administratively, this island including the city of Makassar, SouthSulawesi. Position more precisely located on the west districtWajo, Makassar, is approximately 2 km and can be seen clearly from these districts.
Samalona Island is one of 11 islands in the city of Makassar. The island is very famous as a place to snorkel and dive. Sea coralscattered around the island form the underwater park is very beautiful with a variety of colorful fish.
To reach this island could use a fishing boat (boat with outboardengine) and took no more than 0.5 hours. On this island stands a lighthouse that is used as a sign of land boundary for big ships.
